How Many JPII Students Fit into an Alvin’s 7ft Diameter Titanium Sphere?
Our outstanding science teachers, Mr. Jim Remillard and Mrs. Meg Wile, recently took sophomore students in Honors Chemistry and Marine Science to Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute for some high-tech input and demonstration. The USGS described who the USGS is and what they do, provided perspective about the Catholic church and science, and a demonstrated the 3-D tools used to map and explore the ocean on their "geo-wall". At the WHOI Ocean Research Exhibit Center, students learned about deep sea vehicles and research protocols. It was a great learning opportunity with first-class presenters and information.
So often, parents and other adult members of our school community tell me they wish they could go back and take part in some of the activities at the school. Thinking about Friday’s field trip, count me among them.
